SPI Covers Arizona!

Sonoran Paranormal Investigations, Inc. provides investigative teams covering the entire state of Arizona with three cooperative teams located in Tucson, Phoenix, and the Verde Valley area. Members of SPI come from all areas of Arizona including but not limited to: Sierra Vista, Benson, Tucson, Casa Grande, Chandler, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Queen Creek, Show Low, Glendale, Camp Verde, Mesa, Globe, and Scottsdale.

Truly Scientific

Sonoran Paranormal Investigations, Inc. dedicates itself not only to individual investigations of claims of paranormal activity but is also among the handful of groups worldwide utilizing data obtained during investigations as part of long term studies. SPI believes that only through studying phenomena over long periods will it be possible to eventually craft legitimate theories of haunting phenomena. After each investigation all results from experiments and environmental readings are retained and analyzed whether regarded as "paranormal" or natural. Over time this data analysis will enable SPI to form sound theories and explanations for haunting phenomena as well as show trends influencing paranormal activity or perceptions of paranormal activity. Likewise, such in depth analysis will allow SPI to show existing ideas on paranormal activity, generally handed down as anecdotes, as either valid or invalid based upon true scientific inquiry and stringent analysis.

Unlike many groups in the field, SPI does not adhere to an "investigate and forget" mindset, but rather an investigate, correlate, analyze, and theorize mindset making SPI true members of the scientific community rather than hobbyists.

Charging for Investigations is Unethical!

SPI NEVER charges for a paranormal investigation! We at SPI use our own equipment, our own time, and make our own travel arrangements - this is all at our own expense. We do not accept outside donations. We do not perform cleansings or blessing but can direct clients to respectable spiritual or religious practitioners who may be able to assist them when necessary.

SPI - Arizona's Leading Paranormal Investigators!

Sonoran Paranormal Investigations (SPI) is a paranormal investigation group located in and serving the state of Arizona. We have members from Flagstaff to Tucson and we are able to meet the needs of families and businesses throughout the entire state.

In 2007, we were proud to become TAPS Family Members. You may be aware of TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) and TAPS Family from the Sci-Fi channel series Ghost Hunters.

Becoming involved with the TAPS Family not only ensures that we are doing the right thing - but it keeps us doing the right thing. The TAPS Family affiliation provides SPI and our clientele with access to some of the best and brightest in the field and ensures that we have access to the latest information and knowledge of the latest technology available.

Our unique approach to professional investigation has set SPI apart among investigative groups. We have been called in by homeowners and business owners but also by government agencies including historic sites, local and state government (including police), and the United States Army.

Honorary SPI Member - Katelyn Sassin | Print |
Saturday, 23 January 2010 10:40

Sonoran Paranormal Investigations has extended an honorary team membership to an incredible young lady by the name of Katelyn Sassin.  Here is her story...

I am writing to you for my little  girl, her name is Katelyn Rose Sassin, she is nine years old and she is a big fan of TAPS. She has been fighting cancer since September 11th 2008. It would mean the world to her if you guys could make her an honorary j.r. TAPS member, or even send her some autograph's. We love ghosthunters and we all gather as a family, her two sisters, her brother, her father and I every Wednesday night to watch it. There are times when she is in the hospital for weeks, even on contact precaution meaning no one can come in her room and she is not allowed to leave it for fear she may catch something because her body can not fight off normal illnesses, but when she knows Ghost hunters is coming on she lights up, it gives her and I something to look forward to while we are behind those four hospital walls. Please think about sending her something in the mail, it would mean so much. If you are ever in the Birmingham Alabama area you really should come and visit the Childrens hospital, I bet it would brighten up all the kids faces, you know Katelyns oncologist even loves ghost hunters. If you have the time please visit her caring bridge sight, it has a journal of how she is doing, it has pictures of her and it has a link to some videos you could watch. Please, I know I may sound silly begging but I am a mother who is just trying to put a smile on her childs face, she could really use some cheering up.

Here is the link to her caringbridge website, please take a minute to visit it.

Thank you, Marie Sassin

 Here is her bio...

Katelyn Rose Sassin was born on July 19th, 1999 in Dearborn Michigan. She currently resides in Tuscumbia Alabama with her Mom, Dad, brother and two sisters. Katelyn's favorite animal is a pig, she has a very big stuffed pig collection, somewhere in the numbers of 80-90 stuffed pig's as well as other pig paraphernalia. Katelyn was diagnosed with  Acute lymphoblastic lukemia on September 11th, 2008, she was moved to a high risk because her cancer was not responding to treatment the way it should have, but she now has remission bone marrow. Katelyn will undergo two and a half more years of chemotherapy treatments, she is strong, she is a fighter and she is very brave. Sometimes Katleyn can not leave her hospital room because she may get an infection, but one thing that brightens her day is watching ghost hunters on T.V. with her family, she could be in pain or be feeling sick but as soon as Ghost hunters comes on she cheers up. Some of her other favorite shows on T.V are, a haunting on discovery channel, haunted history, ghostly encounters on the biography channel ,the saddle club and under dog to wonder dog on Animal planet. Katelyn hopes to be an animal officer one day, she loves to help animals. Katelyn loves to read books, she can not attend regular school right now because of her chemotherapy but she is home schooled, her home school teacher has introduced her to the sisters Grim series of books and they quickly became her favorite!

3D Photography - Loreo 321 Stereoscopic Camera

By: Lloyd Lewis

As my quest for 3D Photography continues, I decided to purchase the Loreo 321 Stereoscopic Camera and 3D Viewer from Berezin Stereo Photography Products. (See the bottom of the bottom of the article for the link)

The price was very reasonable ($55.95 + $12.51 for UPS Ground Shipping to Phoenix = $68.46)  I purchased the camera on the 18th of December and it was shipped on the same day.  I received the package on the 21st of December.

The website shows the Vivitar version of the camera, but the product that i received says "Loreo" on it.  Other than that, the products are identical.

Native Tribes of Arizona

Introduction

The following is a very truncated look at the native tribes of Arizona .  The information included will be a thumbnail view of their history, language, belief systems and current status to be used as a reference for SPI investigators.  Because this is truly barely a smear on the surface of what is an extremely  complex subject , also included are some references and other sources of information for those who want or need to gain a better understanding of Arizona’s first people.

The following is in four parts.  First is a general background of Arizona ’s tribal culture history, then an overview of each tribe individually including their belief systems in regards to death, after life, human remains and other related issues.  This is followed by an overview of the Indian reservations and communities.  The latter was included because it is important to understand that there is a difference between the cultural history and the modern political role of Arizona ’s tribes.

How to convert your webcam so it can see in the dark.

Logitech V-UB2 'Quikcam'

Introduction

The CCDs of all digital cameras are responsive to infrared light (IR) as well as visible light. However, most webcams come with a filter installed to block out IR light. This makes the image less washed out but it keeps you from being able to see in the dark (using IR illumination).

Here I’ll show you how to remove the filter from a "Logitech V-UB2 Quikcam". You can use this as a basis to remove the filter from most Webcams as the procedure is much the same, I researched a couple of different webcam instructions but didn’t find one specific to this webcam.
